Educators for Organizing and Power (EOP) candidates represent the full breadth of Los Angeles schools, bringing firsthand experience from classrooms, campuses, and communities across every region of LAUSD. From East to West, the Valley to Central, and across roles in bilingual education, special education, and itinerant positions, these are educators who understand the realities of the job because they live them every day.
Their leadership is defined by results. They have taken on the work of strengthening protections for educators, securing critical resources for students, and expanding programs that serve diverse communities. When policies or decisions have put schools at risk, they have stepped in to organize, push back, and demand better outcomes.
This is leadership built through organizing and sustained through action. EOP candidates have developed strong school-site structures, led committees and campaigns, and played key roles in shaping union strategy. Their work consistently centers on building collective power and delivering tangible improvements for educators, students, and families across Los Angeles.
Across Los Angeles, EOP candidates bring decades of experience supporting students, communities, and coworkers in every area and role. From Bilingual Education to Special Education, from itinerant positions to site-based work, and from East, West, North, Valley, and Central Areas, these members have consistently stepped up to address the real issues impacting our schools. Their work includes advocating for improved working conditions, ensuring access to vital resources, supporting multilingual programs, standing against harmful district policies, and building strong community partnerships that uplift families across the city.
EOP candidates are deeply involved in organizing, problem-solving, and policy advocacy, whether through site leadership, chapter structures, Steering Committees, bargaining teams, or specialized task forces.

EOP is the team that has led the transformation of UTLA over the last 11 years into one of the most powerful unions in the country, consistently winning on salary, healthcare, working conditions, special ed, and racial/social justice. Now EOP will take the Union to the next level, and we will win much more.
Gloria, Alex, and Lourdes are ready to lead from day one to win on salary and our contract, protect our healthcare, fight against Right-wing attacks, enforce the contract at every school, improve working conditions, and uplift our communities. They have helped shape our union into a fighting and organizing powerhouse that is an example across the local and national labor movements. We need their unique experience and skills to continue fighting against the brutal ICE raids, fascism, and the dismantling of public education.
